Bruce JorgensenCartoonist, Musician, Wood Mechanic and Master Finisher
A cartoonist, musician, wood mechanic and master finisher, Bruce leads a small group of trained artisans in crafting and hand-fabricating the trademark Mystic Timber wood-handled smoking wands and dabbing tools. The beautiful design and smooth functionality of the wands arose from the need to help a friend who had become a quadraplegic in a motorcycle accident and needed a way to handle his own smokes.

Why Wood Dabbers?

All Mystic Timber smoking and vaping tools are made from natural North American or Exotic hardwoods.  Our use of eco-friendly materials and production methods means Mystic Timber wands are preservative and toxin-free.  Each is finished with a proprietary, non-toxic wax or non-toxic finish.

Because we love wood, we celebrate visible knots and whorls, worm holes, spalting and other natural artifacts from the life of the wood—we endeavor to incorporate these into the pieces aesthetically wherever possible. With time and use, the tools handmade wooden handle becomes a token of your experience, imbued with physical and emotional memory, like a good friend.

How To Care For Your Tools

We recommend cleaning the titanium dabber portion of your tool (and in the case of ti carb caps, those too) with alcohol. We advise against torching the dabber to remove dab residue as you risk discoloration (bluing) of the metal.

The most popular alcohol for cleaning titanium and quartz is Isopropyl Alcohol also referred to by the shorthand “iso” (70-100%, preferably in the 90-99% strength for best efficacy) in a packaged wipe or added to a cotton ball or swab. Ethyl alcohol can also be used, some commercial packaged wipes such as Terp Wipes, is also effective for removing residue.

Try to avoid getting alcohol on the wooden handle to the extent possible. If over time you find dulling of the luster of the wood finish you may restore the shine with Mystic Timber Peace Polish our all natural proprietary wax for polishing Mystic Timber handles (Available on this site under “Accessories”) or any reputable silicone-based commercial wax. Using a piece of t-shirt type material or clean rag, simply wipe on and rub in. Then with an unwaxed part of the rag, buff off the excess wax.
